as you can tell, he had a ''football'' theme party... he is 5 years old, not 16.... lol.... he is going to be playing little league football this time..... everytime, you ask him what number he is going to be, he says #16!!!! so, lorieann had them put #16 on his cake... it was a beautiful cake, yes it was!!!

hello to all... i hope everyone is having a great week, and had a great weekend.. we had a busy weekend.. not much rest time. we had drake's birthday party at my sister's house. it was a lot of fun. we had a cookout. he recieved a lot of nice things, one was a basketball goal. chris and bo spent a LONG time putting it together.

sunday was great both services. the LORD blessed, and sunday night was one of those LOVE FEASTS as bro. edgar used to call those kind. it was such a blessing, and i needed it a lot.

i am really tired, and it is extremely muggy here tonight. i just came in from picking tomatoes and peppers and i am sweating like crazy!!! time to go take a bath and wind down. stay cool and have a blesses night!!!

today, chris and i had the day off. it was another warm day here, in the south. today,angie, drake, ben, and my mother came to join us for lunch and a cool day in the pool.we had a great time and a lot of fun was had by all. my mother brought homemade chicken salad.. she makes it just like a favorite restaurant of mine used to make it.. i love it when the kids jump and play, and splash around in the pool. it brings back so many childhood memories and summers spent at my aunt's home. i love it too, because it gives mother, my sister's and i a chance to ''catch up'' on what's been going on and the current things in our lives.
tonight, we went and grabbed a quick bite, and came home to just relax and do nothing.chris was so sweet this morning .. he helped me a lot with the housework..


i have been studying lately on trials, and how they can and will effect us. i started this, unaware really, of a trial our family would face, and have been facing for the past year. hopefully, within the next few months, everything will come full circle... and the LORD will prevail.

i am reading a book about trials and the benefits that come from trials.the LORD sends trials to test us, sometime..GOD knows that our trials will be for our good,and they will glorify and contribute to HIS purposes..this also makes us more dependant on HIM, and makes us more useful for HIM. we want to be used for whatever HE wants to use us for..

as a child of GOD,HE has a goal...to complete and mature you. JAMES 1:4
we , as a family, have to trust GOD, to do HIS work, (which is already happening).. and also to trust that HIS true and perfect will is done!!!!!
i read this caption the other day, it said..''The shortest way to maturity is God's path, which leads us straight through our trials.''

things you might not know

last week, i was tagged by kristi from thimble thoughts, for a meme. it was 6 quirky, or wierd things about me you need to know. but, i am adding 8 things, not 6.. i am not posting the rules, nor am i tagging anybody else. i dont have anybody else to tag.. they have all pretty much been tagged by someone else.with that said, that leads me to my first thing.

*** i do not always play ''by the rules.''....lol,lol... i like to play by my own!!!!!, lol!!!
i am the type of person that doesn't like preset stuff...

*** haha... guess?? i AM NOT a morning person. i do not like to get up early, nor do i like to be woke up. i like to get up on my own. we set the clock early, just so i have a few minutes just to wake up. i know, i know , this WILL change when i have children, but for now, that's the way it is!!

*** i do not like to pump gas!!!!! i hardly ever put my own gas in my car.. chris usually does it for me!!!!!

***one of the last things i do before leaving my home to go anywhere, is take one last look in the mirror, just to make sure everything is in ''place''....lol!!!

*** at night, i have to sleep with 2 fans and also a sound machiene. i have to have a little noise or forget it, it is going to be a long night!!!

***i DO NOT like eating leftovers... that is not saying i will not eat them... it is just not my favorite thing to do..that is why when we cook a meal here at home, we cook as little as possible, to keep from eating leftovers!!!!! but it is really cheaper now days, just to go and grab something!!

*** i do not like to be talked to while i am reading the newspaper.... it really gets on my nerves. i kind of have a one tracked mind, ya know??

*** i can not eat breakfast first thing in the morning when i get up... i have to wait a little bit.. mainly, because i will get sick if i do, but also, i take a medicene in the morning that makes me wait at least 30 minutes, before i eat anything.

so, there you have it, some things quirky, about me, that you did not know!!!! now, i am going to take a nap!!!

this morning, chris and i headed over to my parent's home for breakfast... we had biscuits and gravy, bacon, livermush,(MY FAV).. eggs, and bacon,fresh sliced tomatoes, canteloupe... you get the picture..... oh me oh my... i ate till i was about sick... it was very good.. also, my sister angie , and ben came, along with drake, and my niece, corrie, came by before she had to go to work. i was glad she got to come.. it was ever so good.

chris and i came home, and did some laundry.. i had about 5 loads still left from our trip.... and i even washed some while on the trip!!!! after we got the laundry caught up, we decided to go out to the pool for awhile.it was great to just lay on that float and do NOTHING!!!
we came in after about 4 hrs. and got ready for supper. we went to a nearby restaurant, and then we had to go walmart to get a few things.
on the way home, we had our excitement for the night, the big bank in our town was on fire!!!!!
even though chris was off of work, he still went to the fire... it was on the roof of this 70 year old building. they got it under control after about an hour... that was exciting to watch all of the older people come by the bank, i think they thought it had burnt to the ground..

we came home and we got some of our pictures from vacation downloaded, finally. hopefully, i will get to publish them soon. tommorrow, ethan comes home from puerto rico. we are ready to see him!!!.. and all of the other teens from church!!!!!

here i am

well, here i am again, back to the ''real world''!!! it was so hard to come home and get back into the swing of things... you know, the usual grind of getting your ducks in a row, and getting back to the normal life... and monday was ''monday'' all day!!!!!
i must say, we had a great week with the family last week, and i am very thankful that my daddy was even able to go on vacation with us.. he was diagnosed with rocky mtn. spotted fever, just a week before... he is feeling much better, thank the LORD..
i ,too, was so glad to get to spend some time with shane and leah, and emaline...it was so special and refreshing!!! i love my bff!!!!

we have had some situations in our church family this week.. some surgeries, and some sickness.. they really need your prayers.. GOD is evident in all of these things, and has been so good...

my mother is cooking us breakfast in the morning... i can not wait... there's nothing like her biscuits and gravy.. and strawberry buttered biscuits.. i can taste it now..
today is my nephew, ethan, aka, bigeye..,,18th birthday.. he is in puerto rico on a church mission trip. i talked with him this morning... he sounded great.. it is probably the only time he will spend his birthday in p.r. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN!!!!!

hi, and welcome .... it has been hot and hotter these past few days. we have been so busy going here and there... we have not had time to post. we arrived here, in charleston, on thursday afternoon. we have been spending some much needed friend time. we left the boys at home. they went fishing, while we.. you guessed it.. shopped!!!!! we love this family so much and their little girl, emaline ,is so precious...we went to supper and got a great burger basket from a bbq place called bessinger's... it was delish.. we usually go there when we visit.. but usually it is for their buffet..

on friday night, we went to a restaurant that we have never been to before. it is a favorite of the locals of charleston. my friend told us about it the last time we went to charleston.it is down on the water in mt. pleasant. it is called ''the wreck of richard and charlene. ''. it is named this because it was a building that housed the local seafood, when hurricane hugo came through,it totally wrecked the place, they made a nice restaurant out of it, and you can get some of the best and fresh seafood you will find in charleston.it is not a very fancy place. you eat out of paper plates, and it is very simple.... but the view is amazing...

we had a great dinner. i had the seafood platter, which had shrimp, scallops, oysters, and mahi mahi. it came with red rice,slaw, silvia beans, and a hominy cake... very interesting, but delish!!!!we enjoyed this very much. i have a ton more pics that i will post later..

after a busy day sunday, we all slept great last night. this morning, daddy treated us all for breakfast.when we came back, it was coming a thunderstorm. we came in and got ready to hit the mall. we all spent some money.we bought us 2 new life jackets for the boat.



we went to eat at jimmy's hibacchi tonight.it was scott's birthday..... age umm.. 40+2......

whatz up?? i want to wish everyone a happy 4th of july!!!! it has been a great day!! we are having great weather, and we are having a great time. today, we spent the day relaxing by the pool. while we were at the ocean today, this lady lost her child.... it was pittiful. my sisters and i went to help the lady search for him.. someone found him about a mile down the beach from where his family was. we were so glad they were reunited.


we went for steaks tonight. we had a great meal. tonight, there is fireworks going off everywhere. let's just say it is going to be a long night!!

i need a vacation

the time has come for me to take a vacation. we will be leaving tommorrow . i can not wait... we are going with my family. later on next week, we are going to charleston to visit some friends. i am ready for some ''best friend girl time''..that is one thing in my life that lacks... i love to see her, and that sweet little girl, and soon, they will be welcoming a new addition to the family.

i said i needed a vacation, i wasn't kidding!!! we have been extremely busy and just going here and there, not much down time, and we have had some tough days at work also...

i am physically wore out, and need some much needed rest.... well, gtg pack, and i will try to post some while we are gone.
